• Beyond the Classroom
In terms of extracurricular activities, our mission is to provide students with opportunities to engage in the life of the school in a number of different ways. We emphasize activities with academic relevance, but in a way that is less formal and less structured than a classroom. In addition, we tackle gender issues during adolescence with groups targeted at our male and female populations:"Real Talk, Real Men" and "Sista Talk," respectively.
Our school is housed within the Paul Robeson Educational Campus, sharing space with Robeson as well as the Academy for Health Careers. As a result, our PSAL athletic teams are shared with these schools.
For the 2012-13 school year, we are able to offer  the following athletics:

Boys: Baseball, Basketball & JV Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Handball, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track, Soccer, Tennis

Girls: Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track

In order to participate in PSAL activities, students must return a completed medical form and parental consent form. You should contact any of the school's coaches with athletic questions: Griffiths, Williams or Ehrenfeld.
As a school, we offer the following extracurricular activities:
Since we are a brand new school, this list will likely be expanding over the next several years. We are as responsive as possible to student interest, which is what shapes our after-school offerings. Do you have a suggestion for an activity we should provide? Tell us about it!
